First progeny of Sunshine Beach hit track at Geelong

The roll out of new two-year-olds continues at Geelong on Wednesday, January 16.

Four debut in a field of seven in the DNR Logistics 2yo Pace, 1609m.

Three are by new stallion Sunshine Beach – a son of Somebeachsomewhere.

Two of these – LONG WEEKEND and STORMY BEACH – are from the John Justice (pictured) stable.

1.DOCTOR FOX

Rock N Roll Heaven-Dream Bonus gelding

  • What a prolific-winning maternal line this youngsters hails from.

  • First foal to race out of Dream Bonus, which is out of PERFECT BONUS (19 wins) and in turn half-sister to HELENS BONUS (15 wins) and HANDY BONUS (7 wins).

  • The female line also features LUCKY PUNCH (19 wins), STAR BONUS (38 wins and $480,000) and NEXT BONUS (45 wins and $330,000).

2.LONG WEEKEND

Sunshine Beach-Quick Jet colt

  • One of the first three foals by First Australian-bred foal of Sunshine Beach (son of Somebeachsomewhere) to get races in this event

  • This is first foal out of Quick Jet (6 wins), which is half sister to three winners, including QUICK DRAFT (22 wins and $372,000).

  • Granddam QICK COMMENT (7 wins) half-sister to four winners.

3.OZZIE BATTLER

Sunshine Beach-Miss Laura Jane gelding

  • One of the first three foals by First Australian-bred foal of Sunshine Beach (son of Somebeachsomewhere) to get races in this event

  • Miss Laura Jane won 14 races, including listed 2008 Northern Region Championships.

  • Miss Laura Jane has two foals to races – LIFEASWEKNOWIT (4 WINS) AND OZZIE MAJOR (5 wins).

  • Family also includes FREEHOLD FELLA (15 wins) and MAGGIE O’NEILL (4 wins).

8.STORMY BEACH

Sunshine Beach-Tanabi colt

  • One of the first three foals by First Australian-bred foal of Sunshine Beach (son of Somebeachsomewhere) to get races in this event.

  • Unraced Tanabi has produced five winners, including TANABI BROMAC (24 wins), LORD AVIATOR (12 wins0, TIANA BROMAC (10 wins), TASMANIAN BROMAC (7 wins) and TABATHA BROMAC (6 wins).
