Michael Stanley to debut half-sister to Soho Tribeca in Ballarat | 2yo profiles

BURRUMBEET trainer Michael Stanley will debut a half-sister to West Australian champion SOHO TRIBECA at Ballarat trots on Friday Night (February 2).

SOHO NOLITA will have her first start in The Big Show with PT 2yo Pace for fillies, 1710m.

Stanley has three first-starters in the race – all for Rob Watson of “Soho Standardbreds”.

SOHO MALIBU (barrier 1) and SOHO CRUCIO (3) will join Soho Nolita (8).

Soho Tribeca (by American Ideal), outstanding mare CARLAS PIXEL (Courage Under Fire), PERFFECT MACH (Mach Three) and BIRDY MACH (Mach Three).

Ironically, Soho Nolita’s first start comes just a day before Soho Tribeca has his first outing in the care of Stanley in the group 1 $500,000 AG Hunter Cup at Melton.

Soho Nolita, Soho Malibu and Soho Crucio all trialled at Maryborough on Sunday, with Soho Nolita finishing second.

SOHO MALIBU (trained by Michael Stanley, Burrumbeet): an Art Major filly out of Country Change, which has already left Soho Changeling (5 wins all in WA).  Country Change won 11 races and was twice group placed. She is a half-sister to five winners including Adayspay (19 wins) and Demon Possessed (12 wins).

MORNINGS (Damien Burns, Snake Valley): Dawn Ofa New Day filly and last foal out of Frans Jewel (11 wins). Half-sister to Gems (2 wins).

SOHO CRUCIO (Michael Stanley): another filly by Major Art. Her mother is NZ-bred Incendio (6 wins), which was group 1-placed as a 2yo in WA. This is her first foal. Incendio is a half-sister to five winners, including Dixie Bromac (14 wins), Dougie Bromac (7 wins) and Bromac Del Mar (7 wins).

CORVINA (Peter Manning, Great Western): just the second starter by NZ-bred stallion Alta Christiano – a son of Christian Cullen – which won 13 of 18 starts for more than $300,000 in stakes. His wins included the 2013 WA Derby. Corvina is out of NZ-bred Armbro Dancer, which did most of her racing in Queensland, winning nine races. From the same family as Reba Lord (17 wins, $342,070)

JAY JAY SHADY (John Murphy, Dunnstown): by Shadyshark Hanover, which has 13 winners from 31 starters. She is out of Jessica Jasper (18 wins, 126,152), which started her racing career in Victoria before going to WA. This is her second foal to race. Jessica Jasper was a half-sister to five winners, including Crown Cheval (17 wins) and Allbert (15 wins).

GO JO JOLT (Peter Manning): by Village Jolt and out of Christmas Cullen (8 wins). Makes her a full sister Christmas Jolt (16 wins) and ill-fated Easter Jolt (3 wins). From the same family as Merrywood Greek (18 wins), Next Dream (7 wins) and Merrywood Pete (6 wins).

MAJOR KISS (David Jack, Euroa): by Art Major and first foal of Kiss Kenny (9 wins) to race. Her grandmother Lombo Pow Wow won 10 times in Victoria and Tasmania.

SOHO NOLITA (Michael Stanley): A filly by Mach Three, out of unraced mare Pixel Perfect – making her impeccably bred as a half-sister to the outstanding Soho Tribeca (19 wins, $882,609) and top flight mare Carlas Pixel (12 wins, $154,170). Also a half-sister to Perfect Mach (14 wins, $125,338) and Birdy Mach (22 wins, $209,461). Enough said! Not quite. Let’s not forget Pixel Perfect is also a half-sister to Chariots of Fire winner Villagem (25 wins, $626,585).
