More 2yos debut as youngsters make early mark in Victoria

A member of the same family as 2004 Inter-Dominion champion JOFESS is among the next batch of two-year-olds making their debuts in Victoria

ROLLECKS makes his first visit to the races at Kilmore on Wednesday, March 7.

By Lombo Pocket Watch, Rollecks is the first foal out of Christian Cullen mare JANE CULLEN (7 wins) – a half-sister to Jofess, which in 40 career wins also won the 2002 Victoria Cup and 2003 Ballarat Cup.

Rollecks is trained and driven by CAMERON MAGGS at Euroa.

The gelding is one of three first-starters in the six-horse field at Kilmore.

Ballarat trainer EMMA STEWART sends out her first 2yo with FOURBIGMEN (Mach Three-Aleppo Heiress).

Interestingly Fourbigmen comes from a family with strong squaregaiting bloodlines.

Aleppo Heiress (4 wins) raced as a pacer, but had five siblings which raced with success as trotters.

Gelding EXCITER (Art Major-Morgan Abby) is the other debutant.

Trained by Keith Cotchin at Elmore, Exciter’s mother won 10 times and is a half-sister to Its Only Rocknroll (30 wins).

Morgan Abby has already left two winners, including Supreme Stride (5 wins).

Stewart then backs up with another 2yo first-starter CENTENARIO (American Ideal-Beninjurd) at Geelong on Friday, March 9.

The colt is the third foal of Beninjurd to race, following Somedan (5 wins).

Most significantly Beninjurd is a full sister to group 1 winner PHILADELPHIA MAN (24 wins).

ROCKNROLL OPAL (Rock N Roll Heaven-Wattabout A Smile) and SPORTING ICON (Sportswriter-Rock Me Gently) also make their debuts at Geelong.

Sporting Icon is the first offspring of her mother to race, with Rock Me Gently a half-sister to Red Luck (19 wins)

Rocknroll Opal is also the first foal of her broodmare to get to the races.
