Sushi Sushi a generational talent - now its Fides’ turn!
Sushi Sushi was a generational talent.
A superstar of his time.
He won 27 of 47 starts for $1.1m.
As impressive as this record is, Sushi Sushi could have gone on to become a legend of Australian harness racing had he not been tragically lost as a 5yo after finishing second in the 2013 Ballarat Pacing Cup.
Sushi Sushi was one of four winners produced by US-bred Sabilize, a winner of 31 races in her own right.
Sabilize has over the past decade become the foundation mare for an abundance of winners and highly talented pacers.
There’s been group 1 winner Our Golden Goddess (17 wins), Markey Oh Markey (23 wins), Somepartywomewhere (19 wins), Velox Equus (17 wins), Fourstarzzzspecial (14 wins), Be Social (12 wins) and Nmack Beach (11 wins).
The latest is Sunday’s Hamilton Pacing Cup winner Fides.
He is out of Christian Cullen mare Localize - a daughter of Sabilize and also the dam of Our Golden Goddess.
Fides has some way to go before emulating the deeds of some of his more illustrious relatives, but he has certainly made a big impression with wins in his two runs after more than 12 months off the scene.
