Trotting mare Tuscan Dawn rewards connections for patience

DAWN EVANS has probably lost count of the number trotters she has raced and bred.

And for that matter the number of winners she has had.

Veteran trainers BON CONROY (Daylesford) and ALEX DOUGLAS (Ballarat) have overseen many of these.

One thing she has never lacked is patience with a horse and TUSCAN DAWN reinforced Evans’ faith in her when she broke through for her first career success at start number 24.

The 4yo mare scored for the trainer-driver combination of father and daughter BOB and ANNE-MAREE CONROY in a TRO only trot, 2180m, at Kilmore on what turned out to be a lucky Friday 13th.

Tuscan Dawn is by Conch Deville and out of French Frolic, part of a strong winning bloodline for Evans.

Evans bred French Frolic, which is the winner of three winners (Redcaviar, Ainsdale and Tuscan Dawn).

French Folic is out of Speedy Carla (5 wins), which left two winners (Carlas Glory and Mountain Magic, 11 wins).
